Description
The SDG Fund of the North-South Bridges Foundation supports registered, non-profit associations from Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia in implementing development policy education and information projects related to the 17 Goals of the 2030 Agenda. Supported formats include seminars, exhibitions, excursions, campaigns, or multimedia learning offers that clearly illustrate global interconnections between the North and South. The initiative aims to sensitize participants to sustainable development, global justice, and constructive opportunities for action – from the responsible use of resources to addressing climate change, poverty, and gender equality. With a view to the global perspective, projects should make local scopes for action visible in the global context and encourage critical reflection on everyday behavior. The duration is up to 12 months, with a funding rate of up to 75% of total project costs, up to a maximum of €15,000 per project.
Applications for project starts from 2026 can be submitted by post and electronically until 20.11.2025. Eligible expenses include accommodation, meals, and travel costs according to the Federal Travel Expenses Act, personnel costs (TVöD-Bund), fees (BAköV scale), project-related material costs, and administrative costs (max. 10%). A prerequisite is registration as a non-profit association without prior FEB funding from Engagement Global. In addition to the completed application form, the project description, cost and financing plan, extract from the register of associations, statutes, tax exemption notice, and, if applicable, job descriptions, schedules, or exposés must be submitted. Through the funding, associations receive technical and financial start-up assistance to sustainably establish sustainability-related educational work in East Germany and Berlin and to strengthen awareness of the SDGs among local target groups.
