Description

The Social Department of the Upper Austrian State Government supports seniors with low income aged 60 and over through a non-repayable grant for recreational or spa stays in Upper Austria, within the EU area, and in countries directly bordering Austria. Generally, 50% of the accommodation costs are subsidized, with a minimum of €60 and a maximum of €90 per person per week. Funding is provided for stays lasting at least one week (5 working days/4 nights) up to three weeks per calendar year. Four-day trips are excluded from funding to prioritize recreational stays of sufficient duration.

To be eligible for the grant, applicants must have an income below the maximum income threshold according to the compensation allowance guideline under the ASVG and must provide official confirmation of the stay. The application must be submitted within three months after return. The completed and signed application form, the confirmation of stay, as well as original invoices or payment receipts must be attached. For organized senior weeks, a collective confirmation is sufficient. The funding has been granted indefinitely since October 1, 2013, and is continuously provided.
