Description

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs supports projects through the funding program "Safety and Health at Work in the Changing World of Work" that advance innovative safety and health concepts in the modern working environment. Projects from the fields of labour, labour & social affairs are funded, characterized by special professional-content and administrative competence. The program is aimed at educational institutions, companies, and public institutions striving to establish humane working conditions. By providing grants of up to 70 percent of eligible expenses, stakeholders are encouraged to develop sustainable preventive measures and improve occupational safety within their organizations.

The focus of the funding program is the targeted implementation of measures in a dynamic environment shaped by the transformation of the world of work. The initiative supports projects addressing key topics such as mobile work, the impacts of climate change, basic activities, mental health, and the use of artificial intelligence in occupational safety and health. The involvement of relevant social partners is essential, as both employer and employee representatives must provide written consent to the project. Funding requires a close connection to policy workshops, where experts and operational stakeholders discuss interdisciplinary solution approaches that can serve as role models across various sectors.

Careful evaluation and systematic review of the projects ensure that the funded measures not only contribute to the current improvement of occupational safety but also provide sustainable impulses for future developments. Particular attention is given to the practical relevance and innovative strength of the submitted concepts. With the support of the BMAS, projects are highlighted that go beyond conventional approaches and make a significant contribution to creating safe and healthy workplaces in Germany. Overall, the program emphasizes the importance of a future-oriented occupational safety that meets the challenges of the modern working world while setting new standards for humane working environments.
