Description

Within the framework of this nationwide funding program, the extensive collection of the Sigmund Freud Library is being systematically cataloged and transferred into a local electronic catalog. This measure aims to make the holdings digitally accessible in order to provide a broad circle of interested parties and users—particularly the scientific research community—with uncomplicated online access. The initiative targets public institutions and non-profit organizations active in the fields of culture, research & innovation, science, education, as well as vocational and further training. Funded as a grant, the project pursues the goal of sustainable indexing and presentation of historically valuable literature, taking into account current standards of library and information science.

The funding period spans 63 months (01.01.2021 to 31.03.2026) and requires public accessibility as well as compliance with the specific conditions of the 2021–2025 funding agreement. With a budgeted volume of €0.275 million, the program establishes a digital infrastructure that will contribute in the long term to raising awareness of the relevance of science and research. The Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research supports this direct funding within the legal framework of the Research Organization Act (FOG) and the federal funding guidelines. Expected effects include improved utilization of the library holdings, intensified professional exchange, and increased visibility of Freudian research results in the digital realm.
