Description
The Summer Academy for Intercultural Dialogue offers young adults aged 18–26 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kurdistan-Iraq, Palestine/Israel, and Germany the opportunity to experience an intensive space for encounter and learning over a period of two weeks in the Bavarian Alps. Through a varied program of workshops, seminars, and interreligious impulses, participants jointly explore methods of peace and dialogue work, reflect on collective traumas, and practice techniques for reconciliation and culture of remembrance. Under the guidance of experienced facilitators and experts, the academy promotes perspective-taking and a deeper understanding of diverse identities and social backgrounds. The goal is to establish sustainable cooperations and strengthen the participants’ skills for dialogue in conflict regions.
As a grant program of the Wings of Hope Germany Foundation, the funding is aimed at individuals with excellent English skills and a genuine interest in social cohesion and the promotion of democracy. Participation is awarded through an online call and covers all program and catering costs on site. Upon completion of the Summer Academy, graduates bring their newly acquired competencies back to local initiatives and commit themselves long-term to peacebuilding projects in their home societies. The next call will open in good time before the program start on August 17, 2026, inviting interested young people to apply online and become part of this cross-border dialogue format.
