Description

The special funding guideline 2024 of the State of Burgenland supports public institutions and non-profit housing associations based in Burgenland in the construction of group residential buildings, terraced houses, apartments, and dormitories. Applications for a non-repayable grant can be submitted between 01.09.2024 and 31.12.2026. The calculation is based on the square meter of eligible residential floor area and depends on the submitted energy and ecological indicators. Bonus amounts reward, for example, land-saving construction, barrier-free access, innovative climate protection systems, and ecological measures such as photovoltaic systems or green facades. Eligible costs include construction costs, planning and connection fees, as well as development and ancillary costs. A prerequisite is that the funded properties are exclusively transferred or rented to eligible persons with their main residence in Austria. These persons must have continuously lived in Austria for at least two years and demonstrate an income subject to Austrian income tax.

For the application, among other documents, the official application form, the 2024 funding guideline, an officially approved building plan with construction description, a list of usable floor areas, the ZEUS form for the energy certificate, a cost breakdown according to ÖNORM B 1801-1, as well as a site plan must be submitted. Submission is done electronically to the Office of the Burgenland State Government, Department of Housing Subsidies. In addition to costs and affordability, ecological efficiency, location quality, demand, accessibility, and land-conserving construction methods are also evaluated. Ranking of funding applications may occur if the budget is exhausted. There is no legal entitlement to approval. Further details can be found in the funding guidelines of the Burgenland Housing Subsidy Act 2018.
