Description
The special program Support for the Care of Ukrainian Refugee Children aims to provide Ukrainian children and adolescents up to the end of compulsory schooling (up to 15 years) in Tyrol with needs-based and reliable care. Eligible for funding are public institutions, public law corporations, legally recognized churches, as well as natural and legal persons. In addition to regular operations in nurseries, kindergartens, and after-school care centers, non-institutional offerings in age-appropriate premises can also be supported. Thus, the program makes an important contribution to the social integration of refugee families and strengthens the local education and care network.
The grant is provided as a non-repayable subsidy, with only additional personnel expenses being recognized. Up to 40 eligible hours per calendar week are possible for every ten registered Ukrainian refugee children, with an additional 40 hours for higher numbers of children in care. The prerequisite is that caregivers are of legal age, physically and personally suitable, and that the regular operation of institutional facilities is not impaired. Applications must be submitted no later than three months after the start of the measure – and at the latest by December 31, 2025 – to the Department of Early Childhood Education and General Education of the State of Tyrol. Further information on application documents and legal bases can be found in the Framework Guideline for Early Childhood Education of the State of Tyrol.
