Special Projects for Young Athletes

Special Projects for Young Athletes support innovative youth projects of Burgenland teams in the two highest Austrian leagues as well as outstanding youth high-performance sports models and selected performance centers. This continuously available grant funding is aimed at associations or clubs based in Burgenland that are either active in the top leagues or participate in supraregional championship competitions in the youth sector. Based on the guidelines anchored in the Burgenland Sports Promotion Act, the aim is to specifically strengthen training, support, and advancement opportunities for young athletes. The funding is unlimited in duration – since June 11, 2013, applications can be submitted at any time.

Application requires a detailed project description, a financing plan, and the completed application form. Valid proofs include official championship certificates, budget plans, and performance evaluations. Approval is based on the activity of the sponsoring club in the highest leagues and/or the federation’s work in the youth sector. Successful applicants receive direct funding, which is paid out upon submission of invoices and payment receipts. The processing is handled by the Office of the Burgenland State Government, Department of Sports (post.a9-sport@bgld.gv.at). This performance-oriented funding supports the sustainable development of Burgenland as a sports region and strengthens the prospects of young athletes at the highest competitive levels.
