Description

The City of Graz supports low-income households in Styria with an automatic energy cost subsidy of 110 euros per household. The subsidy, granted once annually, is transferred directly to the account on file for holders of a permanently valid Social Card without a separate application. As part of the social support spectrum in the field of Social Affairs, Employment & Social Services and as an ongoing financial measure, this subsidy provides particularly affected households with reliable assistance. There is no deadline to be met, as the payment is made automatically. By granting the amount once, the funding aims to effectively reduce the financial burden caused by rising energy prices while simultaneously offering easy access according to the Once-Only Principle.

Eligible for funding are adults with their main residence in Graz for at least six months who possess an unlimited Social Card. Additionally, proof of low household income is required (e.g., exemption from ORF fees, minimum social security benefits, or subsistence benefits under the Disability Act). For third-country nationals who registered in Graz for the first time after January 1, 2016, a signed Graz Integration Declaration is also a prerequisite. With a funding amount of 110 euros per household, the measure sustainably contributes to basic social provision and relieves individuals with limited financial means in the urban environment. The grant is provided without a fixed volume and is part of the municipal commitment to securing basic social needs.
