Description
The early childhood support through the SocialCard in Graz assists families with low household income and non-school-age children in Styria. With an annually paid subsidy of 40 € per child, the measure helps to reduce everyday financial burdens and effectively relieve young families. This social benefit is granted continuously and is aimed at all private individuals who hold a valid SocialCard. The funding objective is to strengthen equal opportunities and social participation by focusing specifically on the youngest and providing them with appropriate support.
Applications can be submitted at any time and are processed automatically with a valid SocialCard – a separate application is not required. The eligibility check only includes possession of the SocialCard and proof of exemption from ORF fees or comparable subsistence benefits. Additionally, a photo ID, a recent passport photo, proof of legal residence, if applicable registration with the AMS, a power of attorney in case of representation, and for third-country nationals a signed integration declaration are required. After a positive review, the Social Welfare Office of the City of Graz ensures the direct payment of the early childhood subsidy to the registered account. Families thus benefit from this straightforward and reliable financial assistance without bureaucratic effort.
