Description
Social Pedagogical Child and Youth Care in Styria enables non-profit organizations to stabilize children and adolescents in difficult life situations or after inpatient stays through individual one-on-one support. As an ongoing grant program, private child and youth welfare institutions with a valid service contract are commissioned to involve the social environment while simultaneously focusing on promoting the affected individuals themselves. The services aim to gently connect to psychological and social developmental processes and provide optimal conditions on psychological, social, and somatic levels to sustainably consolidate educational success.
Funding is provided for children and adolescents from the age of 10 (in exceptional cases from eight years) up to adulthood or, in justified cases, up to the age of 21, provided there is a risk to the child’s welfare, socialization problems, psychosocial developmental crises, or acute emotional stress, or if follow-up care is required after experiential education programs. Applicant institutions must present an official approval from the Styrian State Government as well as a valid care agreement. The measure aims to expand social action capabilities, independence, and practical life skills and lays the foundation for sustainable coping with everyday life and living. Applications can be submitted at any time.
