Description

The Social Pedagogical Residential Community for Children and Adolescents in Styria is aimed at non-profit organizations that offer a family-like residential group as a modern form of living. Designed as a grant, this program continuously promotes the acquisition of everyday skills and self-determination. Participating children and adolescents aged 10 to 18 years (in exceptional cases up to 21) with a valid care agreement receive an individual setting in which social behavioral issues, emotional neglect, or endangerment of the child's welfare are professionally addressed. A prerequisite is an official approval as a private child and youth welfare institution as well as a written service contract with the Styrian State Government to ensure the implementation of the program. Applications can be submitted at any time; the deadline has been open-ended since 31.10.2013.

The funding objective is at the center: to provide young people with resources for a self-organized life and to strengthen their emancipation. Through family-like relationship rules and structured routines, decision-making ability, action competence, and participation opportunities are expanded. The close support also aims at a sustainable reintegration into the family of origin, if possible. In the field of children and adolescents as well as labor & social affairs, this funding complements existing social sector programs and makes an important contribution to equal opportunities. Through the combination of protection, promotion, and targeted support, a sustainable network is created that reduces deficits and sustainably activates the potential of the participants.
