Social Award of the PNP Foundation

The award granted by the Dr. Hans Kapfinger Foundation of the Passauer Neue Presse honors and supports social initiatives as well as individuals and families who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own within the distribution area of the Passauer Neue Presse in Bavaria. Private individuals, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations may submit applications continuously, provided that their residence or project activity is within the specified area. Support is particularly given to commitments in the fields of social affairs, children and youth, social cohesion/democracy, as well as work & social issues. The award ceremony recognizes exemplary individual fates and innovative projects that make a sustainable contribution to the common good.

This award aims to motivate both private actors and volunteer organizations to further develop and showcase their exemplary initiatives. Each year, the jury honors ideas and life paths that impress through compassion, creativity, and solidarity. Through the combination of financial support and public recognition, awareness of social responsibility is strengthened and a long-term impact is achieved. Applications can be submitted at any time; a jury decides on the awarding of the prize within the framework of the foundation’s statutory objectives under the supervision of the Government of Lower Bavaria.
