Social Projects – German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation

Social Projects of the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation promote innovative and needs-based social services for people with leukemia and blood cancer as well as their relatives and social environment. Nationwide, non-profit organizations, public institutions, and also private individuals can submit grant applications at any time. Projects are funded in the areas of social affairs, health, and work & social services that provide concrete support and counseling services, improve the patient environment, ensure psychosocial care, or organize events for networking and information. A prerequisite is that the project is focused on the topic of blood cancer/leukemia and complies with the respective application guidelines and funding conditions.

Comprehensive documents are available for the application process, including guidelines for office equipment, psychosocial care, event organization, and optimization of the patient environment. The aim of this funding measure is to relieve those affected and their families in everyday life and to enable a sustainable dialogue on quality of life, rehabilitation, and professional participation. Through continuous funding, new projects and initiatives are supported that contribute to the networking of those affected, volunteers, and professionals. Upon completion of a project, it is recommended to document the results in a publication and to include a funding reference to the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation.
