Description
The Sparkassenstiftung Lüneburg supports non-profit associations, foundations, and public-law corporations based in the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg as well as in the Lüneburg district in the realization of charitable projects, actions, and events in the areas of children and youth, sports, education & training, education, social affairs, work & social issues, as well as culture & media. Commercial ventures are explicitly excluded. Funding applications can only be submitted by recognized non-profit organizations; the submission of a current tax exemption certificate as well as a detailed cost and financing plan are mandatory components of the application. Private applicants are not eligible for funding.
Funding rates vary depending on the project between 33% and 50% of the total costs, with investment measures funded up to one third and project-related expenses up to half. Per application, support associations of schools, daycare centers, and fire departments can receive up to 1,000 euros; expenses for sportswear are excluded. Decisions on spring sessions are made after timely submission by 31.03.2026, with notification in May 2026; late applications will be reviewed in November 2026. An error-free accounting with proof of receipts within twelve months after approval ensures the retention of the funds; otherwise, the foundation reserves the right to reclaim funds. Interested non-profit organizations from Lower Saxony can submit their project ideas digitally via the funding platform “Hand in Hand for Lüneburg” and thus contribute to a vibrant and solidaristic region.
