Sports Club Membership Fee Support for Children

The City of Graz specifically promotes enthusiasm for sports and social participation by covering membership fees for children up to 15 years old in local sports clubs. This program is aimed at families with their main residence in Graz, whose legal guardians hold the Graz Social Card. The goal is to inclusively facilitate access to sports offerings and enable children to regularly participate in club activities. Thanks to a 100% funding rate, no additional costs arise for the families, effectively removing financial barriers to sports activities. The funding covers all membership fees, which are settled directly between the city and the sports club; an independent advance payment by the parents is not required.

Applications are straightforward and can be submitted at any time. Legal guardians submit an informal application directly to the desired sports club. There is no deadline, nor a fixed budget limit – applications are processed continuously. The prerequisites remain proof of main residence in Graz, a maximum age of 15 years, and possession of a valid Graz Social Card. After verification of the formal conditions, processing is handled by the club, which settles the membership fees and manages the disbursement of the funding. This funding offer sustainably supports children and families by simplifying entry into sports activities and promoting health and a sense of community in the long term.
