Start-up BW International

Start-up BW International is aimed at established start-up companies based in Baden-Württemberg that wish to advance their internationally oriented expansion strategy. As part of the state campaign "Start-up BW," the state of Baden-Württemberg supports participation in delegation trips, trade fairs, and start-up conferences both domestically and abroad to facilitate the networking of local founders with international customers and suppliers. The grant funding covers up to 50 percent of eligible expenses, such as participation fees, travel costs, and trade fair booth expenses. Applications can be submitted continuously before the respective measure begins, ensuring a high degree of flexibility in planning.

The administration is carried out by Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i), which acts as the state partner responsible for organizational coordination and supports the selection of suitable events. Eligible are both classic trade fairs and specialized start-up events and delegation trips, each subject to capped subsidy amounts. Within Europe, for example, participation fees are fully covered, while outside Europe, an additional 50 percent of travel costs are subsidized—each up to specified maximum limits. Through this targeted support, participating start-up companies have the opportunity to access international markets, establish valuable business contacts, and showcase their innovative strength on a global stage. The requested funding is granted as a non-repayable subsidy and represents a key component in strengthening the international presence of start-ups in Baden-Württemberg.
