Description
The "Start-up Projects" program continuously supports initiatives in Hesse aimed at qualifying and networking start-ups and scale-ups. Eligible applicants include legal entities such as start-up centers, founder and technology centers, chambers, advisory offices, associations, and clubs with solid expertise in the regional ecosystem. Funding is provided for mentoring programs, coaching, workshops, informational and networking events, as well as consulting and digitization measures. The goal is to strengthen innovative business models, establish investor contacts, and prepare founders for the challenges of corporate financing. The funding, granted as a non-repayable subsidy, covers up to 85% of eligible expenses, including personnel cost allowances, fees, rental costs for event spaces, material costs, low-value assets, and leasing costs. The maximum funding amount is €40,000. Applicants may submit proposals year-round; the process includes a project description, financing plan, business plan, time records, and CVs.
Evaluation is based on the degree of innovation, sustainability aspects, market and growth potential, as well as industry expertise. A distinguished panel from business, academia, and administration reviews and recommends funding projects. A central register ensures transparency and legally compliant documentation of all de minimis aid up to a ceiling of €300,000 within three years. Mandatory publicity requirements demand acknowledgment of the funding in print and online media. Technical service providers review project drafts in advance, and the Hessen Agency GmbH manages the procedure. Through these measures, a vibrant start-up network is created that supports start-up companies in Hesse in the long term and provides new impulses for the regional innovation ecosystem.
