Description

STARTBAHN – Social Job Placement by the TO HUUS Foundation offers immigrants in Hamburg a systematic entry into the German labor market following successful housing placement. In a detailed selection interview, German language skills, professional experience, and personal motivation are assessed, after which participants complete the Hamburg Job License. The orientation module provides an overview of career prospects and supports the recognition of foreign qualifications. A trial internship carousel offers practical insights into various companies before tailored placements are made in close coordination with cooperating businesses. Volunteer job guides accompany the entire process on a one-to-one basis, ensuring a successful labor market entry through their individual support.

The funding targets individuals who have already completed the LANDEPLATZ housing placement program and demonstrated sufficient German language proficiency. Ongoing application deadlines provide flexibility for participation at any time. As a grant, STARTBAHN not only supports qualification through seminars and internships but also strengthens social cohesion by connecting motivated skilled workers with Hamburg-based companies. This integrative model creates a win-win situation: the economy benefits from qualified labor, while immigrants are sustainably anchored in the labor market through targeted counseling, further training, and personal support.
