Description
As an initiative of the GLS Future Foundation for Education, the Startchancen program addresses schools in challenging situations in North Rhine-Westphalia. Educational institutions receive process-oriented consulting and training offers to systematically promote key development areas such as reading competence, writing competence, mathematics, and socio-emotional skills. From the 2024/2025 school year onwards, applications can be submitted and will continuously benefit from individual process support, ranging from concept development and organizational development to individual training sessions. The goal is to plan, implement, and continuously reflect on well-founded school development measures so that sustainable improvement potentials can be anchored in everyday school life.
The funding offer, in the form of a grant, supports teachers and school administrations in identifying development priorities and developing tailored strategies. The GLS Future Foundation for Education brings its long-standing expertise as an extracurricular partner and accompanies educational professionals in designing effective development processes. This creates a network that helps schools respond appropriately to the challenges of superdiversity, entrenched poverty structures, and psychosocial stresses. By focusing on systemic school development, the program contributes to improving educational quality and equal opportunities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
