Description

The funding program “Ready for the General Labor Market” of the Anna Haag Foundation gGmbH in Baden-Württemberg is aimed at young people with intellectual disabilities who are seeking new professional perspectives in the general labor market after completing school. In close cooperation with special education and counseling centers (SBBZ) as well as in the vocational training sector, the coaching project offers systematic career orientation that focuses on individual strengths, interests, and potentials. An interdisciplinary project team consisting of a work educator, social pedagogue, and psychologist supports the participants during their school time, promotes their personal development through psychosocial coaching, and involves their private environment in the process. Subsequently, targeted aftercare ensures that graduates are sustainably integrated into suitable workplaces. The funding is made possible through resources from the European Social Fund and a municipal grant from the City of Stuttgart; the remaining financing share is covered by foundation funds from the Anna Haag Foundation gGmbH.

The goal of the funding is the sustainable integration of young people with intellectual disabilities into the general labor market and the strengthening of their participation opportunities. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations in Baden-Württemberg that implement comparable coaching or qualification offers. The grant is provided in the form of subsidies and can be continuously applied for within the framework of fund management. “Ready” makes an important contribution to the inclusion of young adults, promoting individual potentials as well as supporting their long-term independence and social participation in working life.
