Description
The Elisabethheim Havetoft Foundation promotes stationary and outpatient assisted living in the Biberbau residential community in Schleswig-Holstein as a grant according to SGB VIII/IX. The goal is the independence of young adults (from 18 years old, in exceptional cases from 16) as well as people with disabilities who transition from residential groups to an independent living arrangement and require support in daily life. In modern, furnished apartments with private bathrooms (partially with private kitchens) or in shared kitchens, residents receive professionally qualified assistance. The offer includes daily living support, advice on applications and dealings with authorities, accompaniment to medical appointments, and assistance with household and nutrition management. A fixed hourly quota of three to seven hours per week enables tailored support, supplemented by on-call availability for emergencies and accompanying weekly shopping trips by car for larger purchases. Through this combination of a protective environment and personal responsibility, young adults learn to organize their lives independently.
Applications can be submitted at any time; formal affiliation with non-profit organizations is a prerequisite. Eligible for funding are private individuals and non-profit organizations who can demonstrate the transition from a residential group to stationary or outpatient care based on an individual support plan. The Elisabethheim Havetoft Foundation points out that funding is offered continuously and no specific deadlines exist. After completion of assisted living, the team supports finding affordable housing and offers outpatient care hours if needed for the start of full independence. This continuous support goal sustainably strengthens the participation of young adults and people with disabilities in social life.
