Description
Since 2001, the Eisenbahnbauverein Harburg eG Foundation has been promoting social cohesion and cultural integration in the Harburg district. With its capital stock of €250,000 and annual additional contributions, it creates a socially responsible living environment for people of all ages and nationalities. Non-profit and social organizations as well as private individuals who implement projects in the areas of youth work, international understanding, or elderly care in neighborhoods with EBV Harburg housing stock are supported. Ongoing application opportunities provide flexibility to quickly address the current needs of the community.
Particularly benefiting are young people, senior citizens, and institutions planning leisure, educational, and cultural offerings, which receive financial as well as material support. The foundation focuses on promoting international-mindedness and tolerance through theater and music performances, art exhibitions, or readings, as well as on initiatives against loneliness in old age – from supervised excursions to regular meeting places. A funding committee voluntarily reviews incoming applications according to clear guidelines and forwards recommendations to the board. Through this targeted funding, the foundation contributes to strengthening community spirit in the neighborhood and fostering understanding between different population groups.
