Description
The Hamburger Relief Fund Foundation supports Hamburg-based non-profit associations, initiatives, and educational institutions with financial grants and non-material assistance. The focus is on projects and activities in the fields of art and culture, vocational training and education, youth and elderly care, welfare services, child and youth welfare, as well as charitable purposes. Both one-time start-up funding and longer-term individual case and structural support over a period of 36 to 60 months are awarded. Non-material support in the form of consulting, training, networking opportunities, and professional exchange complements the financial assistance and sustainably strengthens local project work. Funds are allocated semi-annually in May/June and November/December.
Eligible to apply are organizations with headquarters or project locations in Hamburg that submit a current tax exemption certificate and whose funding purpose aligns with the foundation’s statutes. To submit an application, a completed funding application form and the current certificate of good standing are required. Funding applications must be submitted by April 30 and October 31 each year; applicants may choose between a one-time grant or longer-term support (3–5 years). The structured application process follows a standardized procedure ensuring transparency and comparability. Interested organizations thus gain the opportunity to realize innovative cultural, social, and educational projects in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg and to set long-term sustainable impulses.
