Description

The North-South Bridges Foundation supports registered non-profit associations in Berlin and the eastern German federal states with a 90% subsidy for development policy education and information projects within Germany. Funding is provided, among others, for school and extracurricular educational offerings, public awareness campaigns, as well as multiplier training on the contents of Agenda 2030 and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. To a limited extent, learning and exchange trips between countries of the Global South and eastern Germany/Berlin can also be subsidized to strengthen intercultural competencies and make global interconnections tangible. The programs are intended in particular to reach smaller associations with limited resources and to attract new target groups for development policy educational work.

For projects with a duration of up to twelve months, applications for project start from January 1, 2025, until November 20, 2025, at the latest, are possible. Eligible expenses include accommodation, meals, travel costs according to BRKG, material and personnel costs (TVöD billing), fees according to the BAköV scale, as well as project-related expenses in countries of the Global South. Administrative costs of up to 10% of the total costs can be claimed. Excluded are individual measures without development policy relevance, sports or cultural events without educational character, as well as offerings without thematic connection between the Global South and North. An appropriate own contribution and a clear multiplier strategy are important evaluation criteria to sustainably secure the impact on site.
