CITOYENNE Foundation Award of the CITOYEN Foundation

The CITOYENNE Foundation Award of the CITOYEN Foundation honors initiatives and committed individuals in the Rhine-Main region every two years for exemplary civic spirit. Private individuals and initiative groups based in Hesse who volunteer their time and efforts free of charge for the common good are eligible for funding. The focus is on projects that strengthen social cohesion, promote democratic coexistence, and have a sustainable impact. Submissions are exclusively for voluntary engagement and are aimed at all those who actively take responsibility in the Rhine-Main area and serve as inspiring role models.

The prize money is tiered: first place is endowed with €5,000, followed by €3,000 (2nd place) and €1,500 (3rd place). Evaluation criteria particularly include the lived civic spirit, the project's impact, and the extent of voluntary activity. The next call for applications begins on January 14, 2026. Interested initiatives and individuals will receive the funding conditions in due time via the CITOYEN Foundation’s website. With this award, the foundation aims to honor civic engagement, create recognition, and set sustainable impulses for a vibrant democracy in the Rhine-Main region.
