Description

Scholarships from the Houben Foundation (Vocational and Academic Support) support privately funded educational biographies in North Rhine-Westphalia. Each year, up to two awards are granted to outstanding pupils of secondary schools as well as students of universities or universities of applied sciences up to the age of 25. This form of award recognizes commitment and willingness to perform in the areas of vocational and academic training and aims to pave the way for talents towards further academic or professional development.

Requirements include enrollment at a secondary school or university, not exceeding the age of 25, and timely submission of the fully completed application form. Scholarship recipients are supported for one fiscal year each; the foundation administration of the City of Aachen ensures that all net proceeds from the Houben endowment fund, after deduction of administrative costs, flow exclusively into the granting of these awards. To apply, the "Application Form for the Granting of a Vocational Scholarship" and the "Acknowledgment of the Houben Foundation Charter" are required. The Houben Foundation, established by the will of Louise Houben (23.06.1887), serves the charitable funding mandate and provides all relevant documents as well as information on the foundation statutes on the municipal website. This commitment sends a clear signal for equal opportunities and sustainably promotes educational potential in the region.
