Scholarship Funding from the Ferdinand and Charlotte Schimmelpfennig Foundation

The Ferdinand and Charlotte Schimmelpfennig Foundation supports young people in the Berlin/Brandenburg area with financial scholarships during their school and academic education. Funding is provided to pupils, students, and doctoral candidates up to the age of 30 whose financial resources – including BAföG, child benefits, or personal income – are insufficient to cover living expenses and education-related materials. Through the continuous provision of grants, the right to education is strengthened and equal opportunities are promoted in the region. Since its founding in 1986, the independent, non-profit foundation has aimed to enable social advancement and intensive education without the necessity of secondary employment.

Interested parties may apply for the scholarship at any time, as long as funds are available. A formal admission to a German school or university as well as proof of financial need are prerequisites. The completeness and plausibility of the application documents play a decisive role in the approval process. Required documents include a letter of motivation, information on the current status and expected duration of the education, curriculum vitae, certificates, as well as a detailed presentation of the financial circumstances with supporting documents and a monthly budget overview. With this support, the foundation enables talented individuals in need to fully concentrate on their education and sustainably improve their future prospects.
