Description

The Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation offers highly gifted young soloists in the fields of violin, viola, cello, and double bass a unique opportunity for support. Young musicians up to the age of 21 who aspire to a solo career are personally selected by Anne-Sophie Mutter. The decision is based solely on submitted materials – there is no open competition. Applications can be submitted year-round and are reviewed promptly. The aim is to individually strengthen international talents in the classical field and to pave their way to professional status.

The support is precisely tailored to the individual needs and includes, for example, lessons, provision of suitable instruments, networking opportunities with renowned artists, as well as the organization of audition appointments with distinguished conductors. Requirements for an application include, among other things, current links to works by J.S. Bach, W. Mozart, and L. v. Beethoven, an artistic CV, a letter of recommendation from the instructor, a repertoire and concert list, as well as a personal cover letter. Acceptance as a scholarship holder grants access to a network of experienced mentors and enables targeted support for a successful start to an international solo career.
