Description
The Roland Ernst Foundation for Healthcare annually awards up to ten scholarships for a one-year study or research stay at home or abroad. With a monthly grant typically amounting to €500 (in individual cases up to €800), living expenses and accommodation are supported. Additionally, tuition fees of up to €2,500 per year as well as travel allowances of up to €1,000 per study year may be granted. The aim is to attract outstanding students, graduates, and doctoral candidates at universities in the Free State of Saxony in the fields of medicine, biomedicine, nursing sciences, medical technology, biotechnology, hospital management, and health sciences to gain international research experience and to promote intensive exchange at international universities or research institutions.
Eligible to apply are participants up to the age of 31 in their main course of study, graduates, and doctoral candidates with above-average academic achievements and convincing academic qualifications. A compelling concept demonstrating the feasibility of the project as well as thematic alignment with the scientific spectrum of the foundation are essential selection criteria. The application deadline for the next funding year is April 30. Required documents include, among others, an application form with passport photo, curriculum vitae, detailed project description, proof of academic achievements, references from supervisors, and a language certificate in the official language of the host country. The decision will be made by the end of September at the latest.
