Designed as a subsidy, this funding instrument aims to reduce financial barriers and strengthen intercultural exchange. The purpose of the funding is to enable stays abroad with a minimum duration of one month, thereby promoting international qualification as well as the increase in educational degrees in line with the Bologna objectives. The foreign grant thus opens up new academic perspectives and paves the way for in-depth research projects or artistic endeavors abroad.

The following documents must be submitted for the application: SB AS 1 (application for foreign grant), SB AS 2 (proof of academic success for study abroad), SB 1 (application for study grant/study allowance or amendment application), SB 3 (data sheet of dependents entitled to maintenance), and SB 5 (information on persons for whom maintenance is provided). Applications can be submitted in the winter semester from September 20 to December 15 and in the summer semester from February 20 to May 15; within these deadlines, the funding is effective retroactively from the start of the semester. Outside these periods, the grant becomes effective from the month of application. The foreign grant thus offers a plannable and reliable financial support for ambitious students pursuing international education.
