Description
The Studienkolleg of the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft (sdw) offers a nationwide supplementary educational program for teacher training students within the framework of the Klaus Murmann Study Support Program. As a purely financial grant funding, it is aimed at high-achieving, socially engaged students who wish to advance their pedagogical and personal development. Since its founding in 2007 in cooperation with renowned partners such as the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the aim – Academy for Innovative Education and Management Heilbronn-Franken, the program enables a practical engagement with school development and teaching quality. With a focus on equal opportunities, participants are empowered to take responsibility in educational processes and actively shape school structures.
Eligible for funding are individuals enrolled in a teacher training program who demonstrate excellent academic performance and verifiable social commitment. After assessing academic achievement, potential as school developers, and voluntary engagement, selected candidates are supported in developing a professional pedagogical attitude. The program includes workshops and individual mentoring with the goal of qualifying future teachers as competent school developers in the long term. Participants learn to understand school development processes, initiate change processes, and actively fulfill their role as shapers. In this way, the Studienkolleg has a lasting impact on school and teaching quality and contributes to strengthening the education system and society.
