Description

The Georgsmarienhütte Steelworks Foundation Study Award honors outstanding scientific achievements and supports students of Clausthal University of Technology with a prize of €2,000. It is aimed at theses (Bachelor/Master) in the fields of metallurgy, materials science/engineering, welding technology, and subtractive manufacturing processes. This award promotes innovative research results and enhances the visibility of pioneering projects in the field of materials and welding technology through the nonprofit foundation.

Eligible to participate are all students of TU Clausthal whose thesis has been graded 2.0 or better and contains no confidential third-party data. Submissions must be made by December 31 of the evaluation year or at the latest in the following calendar year. The evaluation criteria are the final grade and the technical relevance within the supported subject area. A complete application requires a filled application form, three printed copies of the thesis, and an electronic version. Selection is made by a board appointed by the foundation; the award ceremony takes place during the spring graduation celebration of TU Clausthal. There is no legal entitlement to the grant. This award recognizes excellent theses and creates incentives for further scientific progress in engineering and natural sciences.
