Description
The study grant supports regular students at recognized universities, universities of applied sciences, and equivalent educational institutions throughout Austria who pay tuition fees. As a 100% grant, it covers the general tuition fee or a comparable charge for a maximum of two semesters in accordance with § 3 para. 1 StudFG and up to the amount of the tuition fee pursuant to § 91 para. 2 UniG. Applications are submitted together with the study allowance in the winter semester (September 20 – December 15) and summer semester (February 20 – May 15); applications outside these periods become effective from the month of application. Only tuition fees actually paid are eligible for funding. Private individuals who are not entitled to study allowance but meet the general requirements of § 6 nos. 2–4 StudFG and provide proof of payment may also receive a study grant.
The following documents are required for the application: the form SB 1 Application for Study Allowance/Study Grant, proof of payment of the tuition fee, and proof of academic progress. The study allowance authority processes the grant in a service-oriented manner and provides comprehensive advisory services. The aim of the funding is to facilitate study financing and ensure equal participation in university life.
