Description

The “Subsidies to Private Institutions” of the Federal Ministry of Justice enable targeted partial financing of projects and activities with a clear justice-related focus in Vienna. Since its inception in January 2013, funds have been made available to non-profit associations to develop projects that promote social cohesion and deepen legal knowledge. With a budgeted volume of 0.39 million euros, initiatives are supported that strengthen democratic coexistence, intensify dialogue between institutions and citizens, and implement practice-oriented measures for legal certainty. The funding is based on the General Framework Guidelines for the Granting of Subsidies from Federal Funds (ARR 2014) and places special emphasis on sustainable impact in the social and legal-political sectors.

Interested private associations dedicated to implementing justice-related projects may apply at any time, as long as the funding volume has not been exhausted. The grant is provided as a direct subsidy, legally secured in accordance with the framework guidelines. Examples of funded activities include counseling services, information campaigns, or scientific research directly related to the legal system. Through continuous calls for proposals, sufficient scope remains for new ideas and collaborations. Associations thus receive a reliable source of funding to realize innovative concepts in the fields of engagement for democracy, labor, and social affairs, and to contribute to strengthening legal certainty in the long term.
