Support Jordan’s Institutional and Technical Capacity in the Mining Sector, in Line with EU Standards and Best Practices

The EU initiative to strengthen institutional and technical capacities in the Jordanian mining sector aims to further develop the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as well as associated public institutions and technical professionals in line with European standards and best practices. With a total budget of €1,600,000, measures for training and education, consulting, as well as research and innovation are being supported. The focus is on both the establishment and expansion of institutional structures and the transfer of technical know-how. The programmatic offering is explicitly directed at public institutions in Jordan, with an emphasis on sustainable modernization and efficient resource utilization. Through partnerships and expert exchanges, long-term competencies are to be created that make the mining sector resilient to future challenges.

Interested institutions may submit an application by February 23, 2026. The goal is to implement best practices of the European Union to optimize governance processes, raise environmental standards, and expand economic development opportunities in Jordan’s mining sector. The funding includes grants for project activities aimed at harmonizing regulatory frameworks and sustainably anchoring technical capacities. This EU support offers a unique opportunity to significantly enhance institutional efficiency and innovative strength in the Jordanian mining sector while intensifying dialogue between Jordanian and European stakeholders.
