Description
The Hopp Foundation supports public and non-profit schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region in acquiring tablets including accessories and software, in order to specifically advance digital teaching and strengthen the media literacy of learners. The aim of this initiative is to enable a pedagogically and didactically well-considered use of digital devices and to support creative, interdisciplinary concepts that promote critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. A class set can be applied for per school; the focus is exclusively on tablets for multimedia teaching. As an optional extension, there is the possibility to receive implementation support from experts to ensure a smooth technical and organizational deployment.
To apply, a fully completed application form must be submitted, accompanied by a current cost estimate (no older than three months) and a detailed pedagogical-technical concept with an implementation plan. All questions in the form must be answered completely. Eligible to apply are public or non-profit schools within the districts of Bergstraße, Bad Dürkheim, Germersheim, Karlsruhe (city), Heidelberg, Mannheim, Neustadt a. d. Weinstraße, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Südliche Weinstraße, and other municipalities in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. Funding periods run from March to the end of April and from September to the end of October; applications outside these time frames cannot be considered. Selection is based on the quality and comprehensibility of the pedagogical-didactic concept, the innovativeness of the teaching ideas, and the contribution to promoting media literacy.
