Description

In Lower Austria, the state supports non-profit organizations as part of social and health promotion with a subsidy for the day care of palliative patients. Within the field of health and social affairs, the difference between the actual day care costs incurred and the income-dependent cost contribution is reimbursed. This funding, provided within the framework of private sector administration, helps to maintain reliable care structures in approved social institutions and financially relieves affected individuals and their relatives. Since ongoing application opportunities exist, the support can be utilized flexibly and without deadline pressure. The initiative is specifically aimed at providers who have social authority approval in accordance with §§ 49 ff. NÖ SHG and provide day hospice services in accordance with state guidelines.

Interested parties are palliative patients with their main residence in Lower Austria who are already receiving care allowance and wish to expand their participation in day care services. A prerequisite for receiving funding, in addition to Austrian citizenship or equivalent status, is proof of income as well as care allowance receipt. For the application, a completed form "Subsidy for Day Care," proof of income, and a copy of the care allowance decision must be submitted to the responsible district administrative authority. A follow-up application is only required if more than one year has passed since the original approval. In this way, the state of Lower Austria sustainably promotes dignified end-of-life care and strengthens the local social network.
