Description

The general funding of the TAMMUS Foundation is aimed at non-profit associations, initiatives, and social enterprises based in the Hamburg metropolitan area and supports projects from the idea development stage through to follow-up financing. The goal is to strengthen engagement in the areas of education, health, social affairs, environmental and nature conservation, research & innovation, vocational training & further education, work & social issues, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. Both one-time and long-term projects are funded, with the foundation providing both structural and project support. Financial assistance is granted in the form of subsidies to cover personnel and material costs. Together with the recipient, a substantial contribution is to be made toward the realization of charitable purposes according to §§ 52, 53 AO.

Eligible for funding are exclusively verifiably non-profit organizations based in the Hamburg metropolitan area. A prerequisite for submitting an application, in addition to proof of non-profit status, is a meaningful project description. Submissions are accepted at the end of each quarter, and funding decisions are communicated approximately one month after the deadline. The procedure is informal, with the foundation placing great emphasis on close needs assessment to achieve the highest possible impact. In particular, newly emerging initiatives in the idea phase can expect start-up funding, followed by grants for implementation and, if applicable, follow-up financing. In doing so, the TAMMUS Foundation makes a sustainable contribution to strengthening civil society and charitable structures in Hamburg.
