Description
Within the framework of the project TEAM HAMBURG / Securing Elite Sports – Athlete Support, the Hamburg Elite Sports Foundation provides monthly grants to offset sport-related additional costs for Hamburg athletes and young talents. Funding is provided to athletes who belong to a current Olympic, perspective, or junior national squad (OK, PK, NK1, or NK2) in an Olympic or Paralympic discipline, are members of a club or association affiliated with the Hamburg Sports Federation, and are assigned to the Olympic Training Center Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein. The aim of the funding is to create an optimal training environment so that squad athletes can fully focus on national and international competitions as well as the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The decision on admission is made by a specially appointed advisory board, taking into account squad membership and proven successes in defined target competitions.
To apply, the completed TEAM HAMBURG application form as well as signatures from the club and the elite federation are required. The submission deadlines are February 28 and May 31 of each year. Applications that are not submitted on time or are incomplete cannot be considered. Through targeted funding, the Hamburg Elite Sports Foundation supports performance development and ensures the long-term competitiveness of Hamburg’s top athletes and talents.
