Description
Part-time Supported Living in Styria offers, as a complementary service to full-time supported living and training apartments, a flexible care model for people with intellectual/cognitive, physical, sensory, or multiple disabilities after completion of compulsory schooling. The goal is to enable a more independent form of living in an inclusive environment, with the intensity of care tailored to the individual needs of the residents. Typically, these individuals participate in day workshops for people with disabilities during the day, undergo vocational qualification measures, or perform sheltered work. Funding is provided through a grant to privately operated disability facilities that have been officially approved and hold a written service contract with the Styrian State Government. The program is characterized by ongoing application opportunities and is available to organizations eligible for funding.
Interested institutions must demonstrate that the clients will be able to manage their daily lives independently in the foreseeable future and have the desire to separate from the parental home or a changed family situation. In addition to professional care, the measure aims to sustainably strengthen the independence and quality of life of the participants. The funding objective targets long-term integration into society by tailoring housing and care services precisely to the abilities and interests of the residents. Applications can be submitted at any time; no deadline is set. The responsible body for implementation is Department 11 – Social Affairs, Labor and Integration of the Styrian State Government, which coordinates and further develops the social network in the region.
