Theater, Art, and Music Projects – Josef and Luise Kraft Foundation

The Josef and Luise Kraft Foundation supports theater, art, and music projects in Bavaria that are specifically aimed at increasing participation and quality of life for elderly people in senior living facilities. Funding is provided for individual actions and productions in music, theater, literature, and visual arts, which are either presented on-site or thematically address the process of aging. The foundation grants financial contributions and in-kind benefits to public and private institutions, educational establishments, non-profit organizations, as well as individuals. The continuous funding opportunity allows for informal submission of applications at any time. Projects must comply with the foundation’s statutes and focus on elderly care or the participation of older adults, including those with dementia. Compliance with the statutory objectives, sustainability, and effectiveness are among the central evaluation criteria.

For the application, a detailed project description, a timeline with milestones, a transparent financial plan, a concept for sustainability and effectiveness, a risk assessment, and a public relations plan must be submitted. Selection is made after review by the foundation and, if applicable, external experts. Upon approval, regular reporting is expected to document the success and impact of the funded measures in a transparent manner. The funding is particularly aimed at cultural practitioners, artists, and operators of senior facilities who wish to develop and implement innovative offerings for the cultural participation of older persons.
