Description

The Autism Foundation Tübingen, together with the association Lebensräume e.V., supports therapeutic riding for people on the autism spectrum in Baden-Württemberg. In the residential facility for autism in the district of Tübingen, residents regularly receive guided riding lessons, supplemented by communication workshops within the residence. The aim of this 100% funded measure is to reduce challenging behavior, strengthen motor and communication skills, and improve social participation in everyday life. As a grant, all costs for the therapeutic riding sessions and accompanying communication offerings are covered. Applications can be submitted continuously to ensure ongoing funding.

Eligible for funding are private individuals and non-profit organizations, provided a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder exists and the participants are residents of the KBF facility for autism in the district of Tübingen. Funding is provided particularly for the expert guidance by therapists as well as workshops on supported communication. This initiative accompanies individual developmental processes and strengthens trust in social interactions. The combination of animal-assisted therapy and methodically guided communication exercises creates a motivating environment that sustainably enhances quality of life and promotes inclusive structures in the region.
