Eligible expenses include additional costs for animal-friendly housing systems as well as income losses due to reduced stocking densities. The online portal Portia is available around the clock for application submission, allowing funding applications to be submitted at any time on a continuous basis. In addition to the fully completed application form, proof of the animal welfare-compliant housing system and the valid business number must be provided. The review and approval are the responsibility of the Thuringian State Office for Agriculture and Rural Areas (TLLLR), which acts as the central specialist authority for agricultural and environmental measures.
