Establishment and consolidation of a European innovation ecosystem that anchors cultural and creative industries (CCIs) as central drivers of sustainable innovation and competitiveness. The funding aims to close gaps in existing innovation networks, further develop the results of previous projects, and ensure economically viable models in the long term.

Description
The EU call “Towards a consolidated culture and creativity driven European innovation ecosystem” supports coordinated actions over five years within the framework of Horizon Europe to build a sustainable innovation ecosystem in which cultural and creative industries (CCIs) are established as drivers of sustainable competitiveness. With a funding amount of up to €5,000,000 and a funding rate of 100%, legal entities from EU member states or associated countries are strengthened, forming consortia that include at least three independent partners from different countries. The objective is to close gaps in existing networks, further develop best practices and results from previous EU projects, and establish key indicators as well as economic models for long-term innovation capacity. Beneficiaries range from companies and research institutions to non-profit organizations and public bodies actively initiating or supporting cultural and creative projects.
Funding covers personnel, material, travel, and subcontractor costs in the fields of culture, media, research & innovation, and social cohesion. The evaluation focuses on the potential of project excellence, impact, and quality of implementation. Project realization is secured through the mandatory consortium agreement and individual financial and ethics declarations. Applications can be submitted until 23 September 2027, with the project start planned for October 2027. Pre-established “Open Calls” for third-party recipients may additionally allocate funds to outsource specific innovation initiatives. This funding call targets a broad spectrum of cultural managers, creative professionals, and innovators whose joint commitment will make Europe a leading innovation region.
