Description
The Coach Funding of the Thuringian Sports Aid Foundation annually awards successful junior coaches in Thuringia's competitive sports with a one-time bonus. Since 2013, the foundation has honored the commitment of those professionals who, as central reference persons, decisively shape the development of young athletes. Nominations are made by the Presidium of the Thuringian State Sports Association, the sponsoring association OSP Thuringia e.V., and the Thuringian state specialist associations. The foundation's board decides on the earmarked award allocation, taking into account available budgetary resources, to highlight outstanding achievements and sustainable commitment in junior competitive sports.
A prerequisite for a recommendation is the proven sporting success of the youth teams or individual athletes coached, as well as a positive statement from the respective state specialist association. The funded expenses are limited to the payment of bonuses to the coaches. This recognition aims not only to strengthen the reputation of the coaching profession but also to emphasize the importance of high-quality training in competitive sports.
