Description
The training apartment for people with disabilities in Styria offers a specially designed living arrangement that enables adolescents after completing compulsory schooling, as well as adults with intellectual, physical, sensory, or multiple impairments, to develop personal living skills. The service is funded as a subsidy for organizations, specifically private disability facilities with a valid service contract with the Styrian State Government. Within a project duration of 24 months – with a possible extension of one additional year in justified exceptional cases – professionals support participants in gradually taking on responsibility in living, daily, and leisure areas.
The program aims to sustainably strengthen independence and self-determination and to support preparation for autonomous living arrangements. A prerequisite for funding is a valid decision for people with disabilities as well as the free, voluntary choice of the clients for this form of living. Generally, participants are engaged in employment, work, or training during their stay. Applications can be submitted continuously, as the funding offer is available indefinitely and can be started at any time.
