Description
The funding program is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, non-profit organizations, as well as public institutions based in the EU member states specified in the call, focusing on the development and production of TV and online animation projects in cross-border co-productions. The goal is to strengthen the capacities of audiovisual producers and to realize high-quality content with significant distribution potential in Europe and worldwide. Particular attention is given to innovation aspects in content and financing structure as well as strategies for sustainability and diversity. Application deadlines are staggered: submissions are possible from 30.09.2025, with cut-offs on 03.12.2025 and again on 07.05.2026, each by 5:00 p.m. (Brussels time). The application requires a completed application form, a detailed project description, a financing plan, and proof of independence and ownership control.
The measure promotes collaboration among independent production companies, broadcasters, digital platforms, and sales agents from different member states to implement innovative animation projects for linear and non-linear distribution. Evaluation criteria include the level of innovation, European distribution potential, as well as sustainability and diversity strategies. The award supports European and international co-productions in the television and online sector to strengthen the independence of producers and to reach a broad, diverse audience. The results of the first cut-off round are expected to be announced in June 2026, with final approval by February 2027.
