Description

The funding program "Cross-regional Family and Senior Support" of the Free State of Thuringia addresses the intersection of social justice and innovative family and senior policy. It supports cross-regional measures that primarily promote families, older people, and their relatives in various life situations. The offer is aimed at public institutions and non-profit organizations distinguished by their work in family affairs, family recreation, or family-building initiatives. Within the framework of the program, both projects by family associations and family organizations as well as model projects with cross-regional impact that set societal impulses are supported. This comprehensive funding underlines the commitment to advancing diverse and forward-looking concepts within Thuringia’s health and social policy.

All cross-regional measures that support families and seniors in their quality of life are eligible for funding. These may include initiatives in family holiday centers, family recreation offers, family education projects, or specific models of intergenerational cooperation. Requirements for application include, among others, recognition by the Thuringian Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family, proof of non-profit status, and an active location in Thuringia. The funding is provided as a grant, with the amount individually defined based on the type and scope of the measure. This funding instrument is thus aimed at actors who wish to effectively contribute their expertise in social policy projects promoting families and older people.

Extensive documentation is available to interested parties to provide detailed guidance: In addition to the application form, a comprehensive concept and a project description must be submitted. Applications must be submitted by November 15 of the previous year – for certain projects outside the state family support plan, submission of the concept three months before the start of the measure is required. This clear structuring of the application process enables eligible organizations to present their projects precisely and transparently. Overall, this funding program represents a strategically important component of Thuringia’s family and senior support policy, contributing to strengthening social cohesion and the sustainable support of social projects.
