Description
The community fund Ukraine Aid Hamburg is aimed at non-profit associations, initiatives, and social organizations based in Hamburg that provide practical support or emotional care to Ukrainian people seeking protection. Projects in the areas of child and youth work, psychosocial care, migration social work, integration, and democratic community are eligible for funding. The goal is to specifically support newcomers through mentor or housing sponsorships, legal advice and initial orientation services, as well as low-threshold exchange formats. With up to €10,000 per project, project-related fees, personnel costs, volunteer allowances, travel expenses, material costs, rent, and catering can be covered. Emergency aid measures on site in Ukraine, new foundations duplicating existing structures, state benefits, or individual health care are not eligible. A prerequisite for funding is a stable organizational structure, proven experience in refugee work, and willingness to cooperate within the Hamburg engagement network.
A simply designed online application form and report ensure low-threshold access: funding applications can be submitted at any time, and the BürgerStiftung Hamburg decides on the allocation of funds within four to six weeks. Allocation is based on alignment with current needs, quality of care, networking capability, and sustainability of the projects. In this way, a viable alliance of projects is created that offers orientation to those seeking protection and contributes in the long term to an inclusive, democratic coexistence in Hamburg.
